Latvia Visa: Business Category (Nationality: Indian)

Visa Notes & Fees

  • Passport: Original Passport with validity extending at least three months after the intended date of departure from Latvia or other Member State and minimum two blank pages for visa stamping. Copies of the identification pages and the pages that contain information about previously issued visas.
    Please note:
    1. a) Passports issued beyond 10 yrs will not be accepted by the Embassy.
    2. b) Indian Passports can only be accepted if their bio data (name, date of birth, place of birth & sex) have not been modified by an "observation". However, observation regarding the validity of the passport or any observation on the last page is acceptable.
    3. c) Attach all your old passports (if any).
  • Schengen Visa Application Form: One online visa application form to be duly filled and signed by the applicant by using the link https://epak.pmlp.gov.lv/NVIS.EService001.WebSite/ApplicationInquiry.aspx?
  • Photo Specification: Two recent passport size photographs with matt or semi matt finish, 60%-80% face coverage, white background and without border (Size: 35mm x 45mm).
    Please note: Photograph should not be more than 6 months old, scanned/stapled and should not be used in any of the previous visas.
  • Covering Letter: Covering Letter from applicant on company’s letter head stating his name, designation, passport number, purpose and duration of the visit, duly signed by authorized signatory with company stamp and addressed to – The Visa Officer, Embassy of Latvia, New Delhi.
  • Invitation Letter: Original Invitation Letter from Latvia host / inviting Company. Host has to contact the "Citizenship and Immigration Department" and fill up an Application form which should be approved by the Immigration Authorities & Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (Mandatory) The invitation should be dated not later than 6 months prior to the application date.
  • Financials:
    • a) Personal ITR for the last 2 yrs.
    • b) Salary slip for the last 3 months.
    • c) Original Bank Statement for last six months with Bank Seal and Sign. Note: Bank statement should be on A4 Size Paper.
  • Proof Of Occupation:
    If the applicant is employed:
    • a) Employment contract.
    • b) Employer's statement on approval for holidays.
    If the applicant is a company owner or self-employed:
    • a) Certificate of registration of the company.
    If the applicant is sponsored:
    • a) Proof of sponsorship and/or information on the Invitation.
    If the applicant is a minor:
    • a) If the minor travels with one parent only, written consent certified by public notary of the other parent or guardian, except in cases of a parent having the care or custody alone.
    • b) If the minor travels without parents, written consent certified by public notary of both parents or guardians having the care and custody of the applicant.
    • c) Copies of the passport of the parents. If not applicable, birth certificate of the applicant and copies of the ID cards of the parents.
  • Proof of Accommodation: Hotel booking and proof of sufficient means to pay for the accommodation. Hotel booking is not required if the accommodation is included in the Invitation.
    Please Note: Hotel should match the ticket dates and maximum stay should be in Latvia.
  • Airline Reservation: Confirmed Round trip tickets.
  • Medical: Travel medical insurance valid for the whole Schengen area and covering the entire period of the intended visit in the Schengen area and additional 15 days - "the period of grace". The minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR including the costs of urgent medical attention and/ or emergency hospital treatment in case of an illness as well as repatriation in the event of death. Medical insurance policy can be obtained in applicant’s country of residence, or in any other country, or taken out by the inviting person. It is important that the insurance meets all the above requirements.
New Procedure for Schengen Visa Applications: With immediate effect, Indian citizens traveling to Schengen countries for short-term (max 90 days in 180 days) will have to visit VFS visa application centre personally to provide biometric data (fingerprints and digital photograph). For subsequent applications within next 5 years the biometric data will be copied from the previous visa application included in the VIS. Services:

  • b) Offer expert guidance on the documentation for the relevant visa application.

Visa Notes & Fees

  • Passport: Passport with a period of validity extending at least three months after the intended date of departure from Latvia or other Member State, containing at least two blank pages, and issued within the previous ten years. Copies of the identification pages and the pages that contain information about previously issued visas.
  • Visa application form: Long stay Visa application form printed and signed by the applicant.
  • Photographs: Two color photos (size 35mm x 45mm) must be taken in last 6 months and it should be on white background.
  • Travel medical insurance policy: Travel medical insurance valid for the whole Schengen area and covering the entire period of the intended visit (30 days). The minimum coverage of 30,000 EUR including the costs of urgent medical attention and/ or emergency hospital treatment in case of an illness as well as repatriation in the event of death. Medical insurance policy can be obtained in applicant’s country of residence, or in any other country, or taken out by the inviting person. It is important that the insurance meets all the above requirements.
  • OCMA decision: A copy of the decision by OCMA on granting the residence permit.
  • Please Note: The visa processing time usually is 5 working days. When you pick up your passport, please bring your ID card. If you are picking up another passport than yours, please submit the letter of authorization together with your ID.
